Compliance Gap Analysis and Implementation- Managed project to help a utility become compliant with a newly applicable NERC function by coordinating both internal and external resources.- Conducted subject matter expert interviews to identify gaps in more than 50 reliability standards needing to be addressed to ensure compliance with the new registration.- Provided quality control of written gap analysis reports addressing adherence to the written standards, clarity of recommendations, and general writing best practices.- Developed implementation plan and timeline designed to address all gaps identified in the preceding gap analysis; ensuring completion of recommendations leading to regulatory compliance by the effective date set forth by the regional entity.Grid Modernization Cost Benefit Analysis- Conducted subject matter expert interviews to quantify project level benefits associated with a large utility’s grid modernization efforts. Benefits were used in conjunction with project budgets to optimize the allocation of more than $4 billion in capital expenditure across more than 100 projects in 6 states.- Developed a data tracking tool to monitor the overall health of the project, and a dashboard to provide pertinent information to key stakeholders.

Energy Resources Integration (ERI) is an energy efficiency consulting company focused mainly on demand side management. ERI identifies, models, and analyzes projects that reduce clients’ electricity and natural gas consumption with the goals of saving money and reducing the required generation capacity of utilities. As a Project Mangager I am directly responsible for managing the timelines, budgets, and quality of all deliverables pertaining to energy efficiency projects which span multiple utilities and programs within those utilities. I am also responsible for the continual improvement of internal operations and processes required to complete these deliverables. -Help manage a program with goals in excess of 10 million kWh in electrical savings.-Conduct reviews of all company deliverables to ensure quality of writing, correct use of engineering analysis, as well as regulatory and tariff compliance before they are sent to the customer.- Performed a market characterization report of an energy saving measure within the Oil & Gas industry in order to define whether the measure was being used as originally intended.- Audit internal processes and make changes to standard operating procedures to allow employees to perform their duties more effectively.- Created and manage a centralized database of all active projects in order to more actively manage timelines, budgets, and client expectations.

Intermountain Electronics provides custom engineered and manufactured solutions for the mining and oil and gas industries. The components division of Intermountain provides products for the capital equipment side of the business. As a research and development engineer, I was responsible for developing these components. My responsibilities went beyond merely designing a product, I was also responsible for negotiating pricing with vendors, maintaining product bills of material, as well as working with the production manager to make sure that products were being built as efficiently as possible.- Developed a 27kV vacuum circuit breaker with integrated visual disconnect. This product allows workers to visually confirm that the high voltage section of a power center or piece of switch gear is grounded, rendering the equipment safe to work on.- Developed a Live Line Indicator that lets workers know that there is voltage present on a piece of equipment and that care should be taken while working on that equipment.- Developed a "draw out" style ground monitor. This product utilizes the well known continuity type ground monitor already in use in many mines across the country and allows workers to remove and replace the component without having to get inside the high voltage equipment. This provides a safer and more cost effective way to replace the component.
