Over 22 years experience with print production in specialized industries with over 6 years experience managing people and processes 2000-2001Started working for Barnett Brass (now Innerline Brands) in 2000. Maintenance supplies in catalogs... No, not much fun..2001-2006, 2009-2015Then worked for CFI for about 15 years. Restaurant supplies catalogs, flyers, DMs. Much more fun and more freedom to design. This was not a fast paced, deadline driven workplace. Deadlines were months out, but it did give me ample time to coach my kids when they were young so it was perfect fit for where I was at the time. Not the most opportunity for growth however. 2006-2009Worked for Ryland Homes for about 3 years as an Asst Superintendent. Loved that job. Lots to do and lots of variation. Independent time management and planning and relationship building. One of my favorite jobs and was vary rewarding. Thank you Greg Fitcher for mentoring me on managing people and instilling the value of making every job site your own.2015-2016Left the easy job of CFI and took a chance at a company called Aptaris. Grocery Store circulars and flyers. Scary move after 15 years of a secure easy job. Only here for a year before the companies that used this vendor to do their creative, took their work in-house. One of those customers was SEG and we were all permitted to apply for a job there.2016-presentSoutheastern Grocers. The Grocery Industry. I got the job. Who knew grocery would be the place to be? Here for a little over a year, I think, and attained a job as Studio manager. Close to 4 years later promoted to Senior Studio manger. Wait, what? They promoted from within? How many Graphic Designers have watched these managerial roles go to outsiders? A lot, I know. Now, I am able to create a Studio that I have always wanted to be a part of. We foster collaboration, innovation and ideation from all team members. Everyone has a voice and everyone is given the opportunity to succeed and fail, and to try again. The only bus that gets driven here is the fun bus. We work hard and have fun while we're doing it. We encourage each other and hold each other accountable. We promote from within and work towards bettering ourselves and focus our goals on improving execution and process and we work together on paths to career advancement. Being in corporation (SEG) with an amazing culture has enabled this and also enables the team to have more opportunities for advancement outside of the Studio. It really is an amazing Studio and and company that I am proud to be a part of.
