I worked on two teams during my tenure at 1904labs. Each team was tasked with a challenging scope of work. I always focused on leading teams with designing systems from the infrastructure level. While on team Foxhound at Monsanto we built a system that allowed agronomists in the field to compare seed trials across the world to help demonstrate seed growth performance in different environmental conditions. While working on Molly at MasterCard we worked to modernize their fraud detection systems. During my time working to solve the problem at MasterCard I collaborated with the teams at Twitter and Streamlio and built Apache Heron’s ECO API. Working at 1904labs was a fantastic experience.

Client: Schnucks Markets, Inc - Web Development TeamOriginally I was brought on to help lead development on the Schnucks Android and iOS platforms. This included bug fixes and new deployments to the Apple App and Google Play Stores. After 3 months a new architect was brought on to lead my team. Once the new lead had settled in I was instructed to start the initial work building the Schnupons API. Schnucks then brought on some new developers to help with all the work needing to be done. As development went on, I touched several different code bases to get the application ready for it’s specified launch date. While most of my work was done on the API, I built several different pieces on the client in Angular 1.xx and also developed an offline inventory application with the corporate Motorola Zebra Scanners. I had the ability to touch a lot of different code bases, and was provided the opportunity to build them in a research and development manner. To be successful in this role I needed to become a polyglot, it was definitely a great experience.

StationDigital was a start up that focused on digital music streaming. While at StationDigital I was able to dive head first into tech. With my days always changing, sometimes by the minute I was able to touch three different tech platforms that made up SD. I started off writing integration tests against the RESTful API endpoints following behind the Senior Developer. I was then transitioned over to setting up Jenkins for the Android build on AWS. During my tenure at SD I mainly worked on the Android application writing services, unit tests, tweaking layouts to support multiple devices, and bug hunting. I also worked on the iOS platform with Swift and tweaking the layouts. The roadmap for StationDigital was laid out for about nine months, because of funding issues we were forced to deliver a working product in about four. Our team succeeded getting the product out to the public by the updated deadline.
