As a Student Attorney, I represent low-income taxpayers in disputes with the IRS at the Tax Litigation Clinic. Working directly on cases involving examinations, administrative appeals, and litigation in the U.S. Tax Court has allowed me to develop practical skills in client advocacy. This experience is incredibly exciting for me as it not only deepens my understanding of tax law and procedure but also has a meaningful impact on our community.

I addressed issues raised by the accounting firm regarding distressed donated inventory and associated tax implications for the non-profit and spearheaded the optimization of the tax exemption receipt process for corporate donations of overstock.

In my position as an LSAT Instructor at Johns Hopkins University, I taught LSAT prep courses and guided students toward success by developing engaging lessons and monitoring student progress through assessments and mock exams. I created a positive learning environment that encouraged active participation and fostered a collaborative atmosphere.

As a Paralegal at Sperling Law, LLC, I provided comprehensive support in diverse practice areas, conducting meticulous legal research and analysis. I drafted and reviewed various legal documents, ensuring compliance with applicable statutes and procedures. Facilitating effective communication with clients and opposing counsel, I contributed to favorable resolutions. My attention to detail and adherence to evidentiary rules and civil procedure were instrumental in achieving successful case outcomes.

During my time as a Research Assistant under the guidance of Professor Fred Brown, my primary focus was on analyzing the budgetary practices of over 400 state and local governments. Specifically, I researched the mechanisms through which these entities finance police-misconduct litigation using tax-exempt municipal bonds. In this role, I conducted thorough research on constitutional issues, state and federal laws, municipality regulations, and legal articles relevant to this subject matter. I learned the skill of dissecting financial statements and official reports, a skill I actively utilize in my current Business Analysis and Evaluation course.

During my internship with Hon. Leon Ruchelsman of the Kings County Supreme Court, I attended court proceedings and settlement conferences on insurance and property law cases, I gained firsthand exposure to the complexities of these areas. Additionally, I had the opportunity to consistently engage in extensive discussions with the esteemed Judge Ruchelsman.

I served as a Community Outreach Director in St. Louis, IL; Columbus, OH; and Detroit, MI during the summers of 2017 to 2019. Led a team of peers in planning and implementing a community outreach program. Developed and delivered workshops focusing on essential life skills and personal development. Acted as a liaison between program leaders and community organizations, coordinating events and fostering collaboration. Built strong relationships with community members and local organizations to maximize program impact. Committed to empowering youth through community engagement.
