‘Spott’ is a product of One Spott, LLC, a limited liability company that was officially formed in 2012 by a small group of software and animal welfare enthusiasts whose goal is to introduce, refine and enthusiastically support the most useful management system and recovery network for animal welfare organizations and animal lovers on planet earth.Spott provides national companion animal microchip registration to pet owners, supporting any brand of microchip at any time and integrating into a leading pet management system that is distributed to shelters across the country. Spott is powered by a small, dedicated team of solid developers and industry experts that are each bent on ending companion animal euthanasia by providing the best software in the business.My role with Spott includes product concept development, company formation and management, development of marketing initiatives, and project funding including investor relations.

Second Chance Humane Society provides animal welfare services throughout Ouray, San Miguel and adjacent counties. As the only humane society in the area, Second Chance addresses the needs of animals and animal owners by providing intake and adoption, spay-neuter assistance, and education. In 2011, Second Chance secured a 52-acre tract of land known as Angel Ridge Ranch and is working to expand capacity to address more stray and homeless animals and to provide additional services to pet owners. My role with Second Chance was to lead the first phase of its capital campaign, providing team leadership, marketing and development support, deployment of new technology infrastructure, and strategic guidance and campaign implementation.

Baltimore Humane Society is a small to medium sized animal welfare organization that provides traditional sheltering services to Maryland residents, including adoption, intake, spay-neuter and memorial services.My role with Baltimore Humane Society involved the leadership and oversight of a complete operational and financial overhaul, reversing a downward spiral in community support, financial resources and social impact. Notable achievements included financial stabilization within 11 months, re-development of a regional spay-neuter clinic, improved community outreach, implementation of a regional transport network, increased performance and revenue production from the memorial park, complete rebranding, and develop of the organization's mission and strategic plan.

The HSPCA is an animal welfare organization specifically focused on the reduction of euthanasia due to access to low cost spay-neuter and the prevention of animal cruelty through education and law enforcement.My role with the HSPCA included the overhaul both general operations and restoration of the organization's public image. During my tenure, surgical output climbed from 3,000 per year to over 9,000, the highest in the history of the organization. Likewise, the HSPCA's animal cruelty prevention program expanded it's geographical scope, revised its methods to focus heavily on education, and undertook high profile cases involving animal hoarding, abuse and general cruelty. Additionally, the HSPCA under my leadership developed Urban Cats, a feral cat network focused on tracking and sterilizing feral cats in and around Columbia, Recyclable, an initiative to rehabilitate seized fighting dogs, Pet Soup, the first regional pet food bank, partnering with Harvest Hope food bank to provide pet food to its clients, and the Cauthen Fund, a medical angel fund intended to provide emergency medical funds to low income individuals.

Columbia Angel Network was a network of high net worth investors seeking to pool their expertise to identify and fund high growth companies throughout the Southeast.My role with Columbia Angel Network included network formation and management, initial screening of companies seeking capital and oversight of the due diligence process.

Provided freelance project management services related to business formation, technology projects and marketing campaigns to clients based in the Southeast. Notable projects include formation of EngenuitySC, a South Carolina public/private partnership intended to grow knowledge based jobs, development of AccessCare, a patient management system for a regional non-profit organization, and the Columbia WiFi initiative, intended to provide free wireless access across a portion of Columbia, SC.
