As a teacher at National Heritage Academies, I am passionate about educating and inspiring students from diverse backgrounds and cultures. I am a social studies and science teacher with plenty of dad jokes in my utility belt, and I strive to make learning fun and meaningful for my students. Prior to my current role, I was a college adviser with the Georgia College Advising Corps, an AmeriCorps affiliate, where I helped high school students navigate the college application and financial aid process. While in this role, I also served as an assistant track coach for Maynard Jackson High School in Atlanta, GA where I showcased my skills in coaching, teamwork, and leadership.I have a BA in Sociology and a BA in Spanish from Louisiana State University, where I learned to analyze social issues and communicate effectively in another language. While pursuing my education, I was also a student worker in the Tiger Card Office at LSU, where I worked for three years. I bleed purple and gold, and I found my family while attending LSU (it’s where I met my wife!).As a new dad, I am navigating the waters of dirty diapers, tummy time, and Bluey alongside trying to develop a professional career that I can be proud of. My family is of the upmost priority to me, and they are my motivation in everything that I do.
