In 2012, I started a small mathematics blog, aptly titled Mathematical Mischief. Over a number of years, I wrote a variety of writing pieces on different mathematical concepts and ideas, with a focus on real world applications.In late 2016, I began to engage with tutoring clients under the title of the blog - all funds raised are reinvested in tools and equipment that support the students I work with. I'm currently working on redeveloping the blog - it's taking more time than I thought it would, though!

Formerly, I worked with Deakin University on the startup and implementation of the Maths Mentors program. This program was developed with a focus on peer-to-peer development.Key tasks:- Training and ongoing development of mentors.- Integration of an online peer support service within the program.- Research and development of a mathematics support portal.- Data analysis on an ad-hoc basis.I thoroughly enjoyed my role with the Maths Mentors - it's a position which allowed me to further my knowledge of peer support.

Key tasks:- Directing students to in-house workshops and sessions.- Collaborating with other students and staff in panel sessions.Working as a SNAP Champion was an amazing experience. It provided a unique opportunity to engage with high school students in a relatable and fun environment.

Key tasks:- Administration: Monitoring attendance and engaging with timetabling processes.- Peer Mentoring: Development and implementation of peer support strategies.- Innovating within: Integrating a diverse range of technologies within the SLA role.Working as an SLA provided me with a way to engage with new technologies in a live environment. For example, during my time at the SLC, I was able to create a new collaborative staff timetabling system that was well received by senior staff and students alike. Prior to suggesting it to my manager, I had essentially zero experience with Google Drive. In a relatively short amount of time, I was able to develop an extensive, relevant and useful system that was still being used long after I finished working there.
