I led legal, government affairs, and customer care functions for Avvo, the web's largest consumer legal resource. I was also the company's corporate secretary and point person on corporate development activities, including the company's successful sale to Internet Brands in 2018. Much of my work involved grappling with Avvo's unique media law issues, along with speaking and outreach to try to drive regulatory change in the legal profession.Having joined Avvo as employee #18, I wore a lot of hats over the years, including leading the following teams:- Finance & Office Admin (until 150 employees).- Business Development (until 280 employees).- Human Resources (until 300 employees).Named Puget Sound Business Journal's "Outstanding Corporate Counsel of the Year" (solo category) in 2013.

Joined consumer wireless broadband pioneer Clearwire in its earliest stages, working to rapidly acquire and aggregate the spectrum rights upon which the company was built. Also handled related M&A and affiliate activities.

I was asked to join the AT&T legal department after the acquisition of Cellular One. Swiftly promoted into Strategy & Corporate Development group, where I managed mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and acquisition integration. Part of core team responsible for evaluating and executing the sale of the company, culminating in the 2004 sale of AT&T Wireless to Cingular for $46 billion - the largest cash deal in history. Led or was key contributor on dozens of other deals totaling over $10 billion in value.Received Chairman's Award (highest level company award) for my work on the sale of the company.Selected to company Executive Development Program as one of the 50 highest-potential leaders (out of 30,000+ employees) in the company.

Responsible for all legal and regulatory activities of the company, which had 1100 employees and over $750 million in annual revenue. Served as a member of senior management team and led several business initiatives, including the establishment of alternate payment methods for customer transactions.Led the transition of the company to AT&T Wireless, which acquired Cellular One of San Francisco in 2000 in a deal valuing the company at $3.6 billion.
