My experience largely stems from educational leadership in outdoor recreation. Since 2017, I've worked for Outdoor Adventure at the University of Central Florida, starting at the program's climbing tower as an attendant. I worked into the lead role for that facility and joined the commercial climbing gym scene as a founding staff member with Blue Swan Boulders which opened in downtown Orlando in September of 2020. I still work in both facilities, and exercise leadership and instruction on a frequent basis, particularly through technical climbing instruction, staff training, and expectation management.Since graduating, I took up a graduate assistantship with UCF Outdoor Adventure to expand my skills and gain experience in other aspects of outdoor recreation, primarily in adventure trip leading. I've had the pleasure to guide students in the outdoors in many settings, be it rock climbing, caving, whitewater rafting, backpacking, and more.As far as skills, I'd share that I'm technically oriented and analytical; I prefer to master skills, and share my knowledge with others. I've planned lessons for and trained staff in curriculum for instruction in the outdoor industry. Additionally, I've participated on several hiring committees for both UCF and Blue Swan Boulders, and participated in staff evaluation efforts.
