Hello, Wildlife Enthusiasts and Colleagues!I'm Josh Cox, the Founding Director of Reptile Encounters, a premier zoo experience based in Burwood, Melbourne. With over 17 years of experience, I've dedicated my career to connecting people with the rich biodiversity of Australia, fostering a deep appreciation and respect for our unique wildlife.At Reptile Encounters, our mission is to be a voice for those that don't have on. We believe that through understanding comes appreciation, and with appreciation comes the desire to protect and conserve.Beyond Reptile Encounters, I’m also the creator of Zooflix.com, a platform offering engaging Zoo Series, live streams, and podcasts that bring the wonders of wildlife into your home.My passion for wildlife has led me to share my expertise on television, radio, and as a guest lecturer at UNSW.   Reptile Encounters

  Reptile Encounters provides education and awareness around the importance of our Australian fauna and its conservation into the future. By educating at a grass roots level, we inspire current and future generations to develop a passion for our native wildlife. With a better appreciation and understanding of our unique and incredible fauna, the importance of protecting it for years to come is truly understood.With urbanisation, young people’s everyday exposure to wildlife is significantly reduced. Many children have only seen some of our animals on television, and some they have never even heard of before. When we provide a personal experience, where children touch and hold our animals, we create a bond. We believe by bringing animals into the classroom and giving them an up close encounter, we promote and encourage empathy for native wildlife that would otherwise be absent.We have eight primary and eight secondary programs, all of which are carefully designed to integrate into each year level of the Victorian curriculum. We include support materials and worksheets for teachers that have been specifically developed by our team. As well as primary and secondary schools, we present to many preschools and kindergartens. Outside of school hours, we provide exciting and educational entertainment for birthday parties, stage shows and hands on experiences for corporate events, school holiday entertainment for shopping centres and our “Ranger for a Day” program.
