Gained job right at the beginning of Event's busiest periods in history with a 50% increase in sales nationally, at one of Queensland's busiest sites and busiest period to date with less available staff than prior busy periods. Worked to minimise stress in a high stress environment by improving quality of life in the workplace via creation of new procedure and workflow, whilst supporting staff in such a trying period. Department goals include:- re-evaluating and re-defining the standards of the workplace so it functions more effectively and productively- Creating procedure with more effective design that highlights accountability and ensures a higher baseline standard of work efficiency. This stopped staff using their shift less effectively and thus causing more work for others. Creating more transparency with communication in daily and weekly task checklists meant that staff can see very clearly which individuals are and aren't effective on their shifts. It also ensures certain tasks are not forgotten or fall through the cracks, and if tasks aren't done then other staff can see clearly when they will need to prioritise some duties over others.- Making a weekly checklist that is more modular and can be changed from week to week depending on priorities.- Placing value on community and support for staff to ensure a healthy work environment. - Listening to staff problems and being proactive in fixing arising issues- Making needed changes that benefit the quality of life in kitchen, with the goal of making work easier and faster to accomplish.- Creation of 'cheat sheets' so less thinking and less opportunity for error.- Placing emphasis on time management, prioritising workload and duty of care to others in the department.- Ensuring a Gold Class Standard in meal preparation and presentation.Cornerstone values are Empowerment, Efficiency and Effort. -
