Veteran Launch is a program of Main Street Launch (MSL), an industry-leading nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution. MSL provides SBA small business loans to qualified California small businesses owned by veterans, active duty military personnel, and their families (VAM) who are unable to obtain a bank loan.As the Bay Area Market Manager, I was focused on lending to eligible veteran-owned businesses in the nine Bay Area counties. In addition to operating statewide in California, Main Street Launch is a founding member of Veteran LLC, a nationwide collaborative powered by JPMorgan Chase & Co. If the business is not in California, Veteran LLC will most likely have a lender that can assist.Separate from access to capital, we empower entrepreneurs by enabling access to resources, networks, and collaboration efforts that not only affect their bottom line but also gives them a competitive advantage. Eligible veteran entrepreneurs are not just receiving capital from us to start or expand their business, they also have dedicated Main Street Launch staff ready to assist them after funding. Bannerman was founded on the premise that everyone deserves to be safe. The aim is to protect everyone, not just a lucky select few. Bannerman's approach to making people safe is to build technology which increases the transparency, control, and connectedness of everyone in the security industry. Clients should know who is protecting them. Part of my role at Bannerman was to create an onboarding strategy for new guards. Serving as an advisor to the CEO, I joined the San Francisco-based and Y-Combinator (S'14) backed startup months after inception and helped scale the launch in San Francisco. This enabled Bannerman to successfully implement the platform nationwide and abroad. Now millions of people are protected by Bannerman security guards across the globe.
