Whether it is a product, a business or a tree-house, I love to building things and leading others to do the same. From design to data science, engineering to economics, law to lean start-ups, computer science to cognitive psychology, my interests are broad and varied. My true passion is learning. My role as a product manager allows me to sit in my sweet spot at the center of information. I like solving problems, the more difficult and complex the better. I enjoy consuming the many, often conflicting, ideas about how to do that brought to the table by the various members of a team (ie. business, technology, design, customers, etc.), turning it all into a cohesive strategy and driving it from idea to reality.I attended RPI for Computer Systems Engineering and later SUNY Albany for a BS in Economics. During the course of my studies I made almost every mistake a student could make. These mistakes led me, and our team of talented co-founders, to start our latest company, College Factual. I serve as Co-Founder and VP of Product for a company that can best be described as a cross between Consumer Reports, Match.com and Priceline for college selection. College Factual’s mission is to improve college selection decisions by one billion dollars. We help families become more informed consumers of higher education by providing in-depth, unbiased profiles and rankings of over 2,800 U.S. colleges. The site also offers personalized matching tools that help students identify their “best fit” career, major and college and determine the most affordable path to maximizing their return on education.My personal mission is to help every student realize their full potential and prevent them from making the same costly mistakes I made. If successful, we hope to ultimately create the next generation marketplace for higher education and change the way college is bought and sold ... preferably before my three sons go to college. :)
