About Josh Melick

I love building great products, great companies, and working with great teams. Over the past 15+ years I have founded two startups and held high-impact roles within two businesses that reached successful exits. I’m a strong leader with a high-level of customer empathy, deep technical understanding, and the ability to develop high-level strategy and also dig into the details of product, sales, engineering, or operations. Ambiguity, complexity, and pressure bring out my best work. During my career I have been a frequent speaker at events, a podcast guest, and a guest writer on a range of topics. I am a builder at heart and constantly working on my latest project -- companies, houses, motorcycles, or just a better way. You'll also find me around the world on regular adventures -- my family calls me a high-risk junkie. I hold an MS in Electrical Engineering from UC Davis and completed my undergrad in Engineering Physics.

    AT&T Interactive is AT&T’s advertising organization with mobile, online, and TV ad units for local and national campaigns. I came to AT&T as part of the acquisition of Ingenio by YellowPages.com/AT&T and led major advertising initiatives including filing 5 patents based upon my work. I led the Ad Delivery group responsible for online and mobile ad serving including local search, display ads, and user targeting. I managed a product organization with three internal engineering teams as well as managing many external vendors and ensuing integration work.I was selected by the Chief Product Officer to serve as lead on AT&T’s mobile ad strategy, responsible for cross-divisional management, agency pitches, corporate development evaluations, and collaboration with AT&T's global Chief Privacy Officer on gathering subscriber data profiles.Highlights included building of a search ad server that enabled billions of impressions and millions in revenue, which improved CTR, engagement, and churn metrics for AT&T Interactive Publisher Network. We filed and were granted multiple patents for this work. While at Ingenio I led development of the flagship Pay Per Call ad product.
