As a child to an entrepreneurial father in the automotive industry, cars were my toys. Nothing excited me more than hearing an engine roar to life, and I counted down the days (and inches) until I could reach the pedal and feel that surge of acceleration under my foot. My dad not only taught me everything I know, but he also instilled in me a deep-rooted passion for all things auto.Why do I bore you with a Josh Minick history lesson? Because life has a funny way of changing your perspective. While I can wax V8 nostalgia from dusk to dawn, that’s not me anymore. These days, I'm a realist, a pragmatist; I know a good deal when I see one, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I strive to be a great husband and an even better father—which is why I’ve decided to change career paths and chart a different course toward sustainable transportation. Today, I am the Transportation Electrification Strategist for Maritz Automotive. On paper, my role is to "help electric utilities, manufacturers and state environmental agencies succeed in their decarbonization goals through the adoption of electric vehicles." (But just between you and me, I'm here to make the planet a better place.) While I can't change the world with a simple flip of a switch, I can certainly put my 18+ years of experience in the automotive industry—and all the relationships I've built during that time—to good use. Because if I can change my mind about EVs, then I know anyone can.
