Despite more than 20 years of scholarship, 30 years of unusually diverse experiences, and a curiosity for the transformative power of connection, I still find it difficult to write a summary of myself like this, but here goes nothing...If you were to ask one of my colleagues, clients, 20,000 former college students, or an Uber driver who was unwittingly lured into deep philosophical dialogue as we crossed the purgatory that is LA traffic, they would most likely mention my talent for piercing observation, careful listening, and extraction of patterns that generate surprising insights, novel thinking, and creative ideas. Or, they could mention the fact that I talk a lot and tell funny stories, but if that's the case, they're merely referencing a different means to the same end.To borrow the advice offered by a certain arachnid superhero's late uncle, I'm committed to using my unique talent for creativity responsibly as I discern what matters most and use it to construct messages that can transform, inspire, educate, and connect. Occasionally, I've even set aside my colorfully convoluted lexicon in favor of composing much more direct, simple, and mindful messages such as the one below, which sums up my motivation for everything you'll find in this profile and my career story. Simply stated, I love what I do. And, as my labors bear fruit in the form of innovation, improving quality of life for those I serve, and expanding an ever-growing web of connection, that sentiment only grows stronger.
