Growing up in a rural part of Wales, the feeling of a strong community has always been important to me. I have always enjoyed taking part in the community, whether it is through meaningful action such as fundraising over the festive season for charity with the local band in which I play the Tenor Horn, or within groups such as Scouts and St. John. Moving to study at a boarding school in Thailand at the age of 16 not only gave me the privilege of living and studying alongside students from over 60 different nations, but the ability to develop independence. In particular, the opportunity to hone my time management skill was invaluable for future endeavours. Studying the notoriously rigorous International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme allowed me to formulate effective research and analytical skills, as well as serving my endless curiosity about the world around me. Although, my quest to quench my thirst for knowledge has only just begun. I grew up watching my parents serving the local community, and country, with dedication, both working for the National Health Service. This instilled meaningful principles within me, specifically the significance of hard work, to achieve my aspirations, as a core principle. I hope that one day I will be able to play a small part in protecting the values which we hold dear, whilst creating positive change.
