I now serve as the Key Initiative Leader for Gartner's CISO Coalition. In addition to my objectives as a senior principal (listed in my prior role), I manage the CISO Coalition's global research portfolio. This includes the creation of any white papers coming out of our series, client-shared materials, surveys, and a variety of other research publications.

I'm currently a Senior Principal in Gartner's CISO Coalition, where I focus on facilitating peer discussions between the IT/Security leaders of some of the world's largest organizations. The topics the CISO Coalition covers include (but are not limited to) Risk Quantification, Talent Management, Metrics, CISO Personal Effectiveness, Executive/Board Communication, Application Security, and Leadership in Risk Management.

I began my career at Gartner as senior research principal, a role that required me to apply my background as a behavioral scientist and UX researcher to uncover solutions to client and end user challenges. I led a team through large research projects, each typically lasting six to eight months. My primary duties consisted of:1) Determining the correct research methods to use for the challenges the team is studying (interviews, surveys, focus groups, case studies, usability tests, root causing, challenge roadmaps, etc.)2) Managing projects and the part each researcher plays3) Creating new datasets and improving the quality of existing ones4) Communicating with a variety of stakeholders, clients, corporate executives, and directors about the state, pace, and direction of research projects5) Producing dynamic research content for delivery to clients through a variety of mediums

I worked in research at George Mason University's Center for Climate Change Communication, where I studied the access, time, and support barriers journalists face when covering climate change. I collected data in qualitative and quantitative forms, delivered summary write-ups massive datasets, and prepared pieces of research for publication. I worked closely with multiple external stakeholder organizations -- these included the Radio Television Digital News Association, the National Association of Black Journalists, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, and the Society of Environmental Journalists. I worked as part of a six-person team of PhDs and PhD candidates. Our methods primarily consisted of in-depth interviewing, quantitative content analysis, and survey research.The last few years of working as a part of the Climate Matters in the Newsroom project resulted in multiple pieces of original research being accepted for presentation at national conferences, multiple submissions to peer-reviewed academic journals, and an increased the general understanding of how different barriers to climate change journalism tend to cluster in specific patterns.
