Wage And Hour Technician
Current*Assists senior staff as needed with various administrative and management duties.*Assists in the training of clerical staff and provides technical assistance with administrative duties as needed.*Provides technical assistance to the public, and employers/employees regarding Wage and Hour laws and regulations.*Assists Investigators, as needed, with investigation.*Uses a computer to input data, create documents and create and maintain files. Initiate appropriate notification and/or referral to other agencies.*Types letters, forms, e-mail communications and other applicable documents.*Uses a computer to input data, create documents and create and maintain files. Initiate appropriate notification and/or referral to other agencies.*Types letters, forms, e-mail communications and other applicable documents.*Receives incoming complaints and determine if probable violations exist or refers callers to the appropriate agency or personnel.*Provides answers to inquires relating to the statutes enforced by the Wage and Hour Division.*Documents detailed complaint statements thoroughly addressing the alleged violation(s).*Drafts and prepares responses to letters for the employers and employees on application of Wage and Hour laws, back wage installments complaints investigations statutes etc.*Communicates with internal and external personnel to determine the validity of complaints.*Conducts interviews in person, via telephone or virtually using systems such as Microsoft Teams.*Contacts employers by telephone to resolve complaints and where appropriate computes and when authorized negotiates back wages for complaints by means of conciliatory methods.
