I am a researcher for the Pervasive Computing Systems Group at Colorado School of Mines. My team focuses on developing distributed and decentralized networking solutions for swarm robotic systems. We are developing a physical testbed where we will test a novel ad-hoc network routing protocol coupled with a network monitoring service. The testbed will consist of 6 drones orbiting a hypothetical asteroid that is accounted for in software. We are working with NASA JPL to create flight paths for the drones to collect science data of the asteroid. Our responsibility is to maximize the amount of science data wirelessly transmitted back to Earth. I created a novel network monitoring approach for determining network link states in a mobile ad hoc network. The goal of the project was to analyze the effectiveness of an approximate network monitoring algorithm on the performance of robotic swarm tasks. The network monitoring algorithm was simulated in NS3. The algorithm was able to perform network monitoring with decreased overhead while suffering no loss in network performance. The end goal is to apply this technique to a drone swarm for environmental monitoring applications such as wildfires, herd monitoring, etc.

As a software engineering intern at The Aerospace Corporation I contributed to a variety of projects related to mission success. I worked on projects involved in launch support, space systems decision making, and telemetry analysis. I improved my skills programming in C++ and Java and learned web development.

I conducted undergraduate research at the Mines InteRactive RObotics Research Lab (MIRRORLab) at Colorado School of Mines. I wrote a JNI for the robot gesture simulation software amino. This consists of wrapping C-code that compiles a "scene" of the robot's environment, as well as wrapping the inverse-kinematic methods that are used to calculate the configuration variables of the robot's joints. I created bash scripts to automatically compile the JNI, C, and Java code. I then used this code to compile a URDF file and use inverse kinematics to allow the robot to point to a Cartesian coordinate in its environment.

I taught a freshman introductory class on faculty connections, campus involvement, and how to succeed in college. I had to plan out lessons and provide mentorship to first year students at Colorado School of Mines.

As the 3D printing instructor at iD Tech I was responsible for teaching campers how to use the Dremel 3D printers. I created detailed curriculums, managed time, and developed relationships with campers. I taught campers how to use the Autodesk Maya 3D Modeling software and also taught them how to use Autodesk Print Studio. I also had to troubleshoot software and hardware issues with the 3D partners and Maya software.
