Studied the effects of drugs of abuse on the growth of new neurons in the hippocampus.Coauthored a paper published in the journal Neuroscience entitled "Time course of morphine's effects on adult hippocampal subgranular zone reveals preferential inhibition of cells in S phase of the cell cycle and a subpopulation of immature neurons."

Studied the role of the RGS family of proteins on a mouse model of Parkinson's Disease. Contributed data to a paper published in the Journal of Neuroscience entitled "RGS9 –2 Negatively Modulates L-3,4- Dihydroxyphenylalanine-Induced Dyskinesia in Experimental Parkinson’s Disease."

Studied the role of the RGS family of proteins in addiction and depression.
