I source, pitch, report, research, and write Canadian tech and innovation stories for BetaKit, with a focus on breaking news and telling in-depth stories based on original reporting and deep relationships. To date, I've written over 1,000 news, feature, and investigative stories for BetaKit, on topics ranging from funding rounds to acquisitions, IPOs, shutdowns, earnings, VC fund closes, pivots, expansions, hires, executive departures, layoffs, product launches, government programs, lawsuits, data breaches, and more. I also help manage BetaKit's social media presence, assist colleagues with reporting and research, edit others' stories, serve as stand-in editor when needed, represent BetaKit at events and through speaking engagements, and occasionally appear on the BetaKit Podcast.

BetaKit is an online business news publication that covers the Canadian tech sector. I reported and wrote stories about Canadian tech and innovation for BetaKit, and assist the team in a variety of other ways.

The Ryersonian is Ryerson University’s for-course credit student newspaper. I pitched, reported and edited stories for the online publication’s business section and co-supervised a special editorial project on the world after COVID-19. I wrote about topics that include the cost of virtual exam proctoring software, a Ryerson-SOTI autonomous drone research partnership, how the pandemic will affect Toronto’s student rental housing market, women entrepreneurs, Ryerson’s new PhD in management program, increased enrolment at the Chang School and the launch of the Ryerson Venture Zone.

The Eyeopener is Ryerson University's independent student newspaper. I pitched and accepted reporting assignments for the paper's Business and Technology and News sections. I wrote about sustainable spending, a campus break-in, the need for more women in cybersecurity, green start-ups in Ryerson's Clean Energy Zone, and the privacy and security risks associated with browser extensions.

The Mike is the official student newspaper of St. Michael's College in the University of Toronto. I redesigned and oversaw all internal and external operations of the paper, supervising a staff of 46, and 75 contributors. During my tenure, we published 10 print issues. I built a news team, website, social media accounts, started News, Science & Technology, and Features sections, instituted an editorial board, expanded the paper’s profile and readership immensely, and more. My personal coverage included stories about administrative issues, labour negotiations, student union activities, and more. I also wrote a U of T survival guide, and profiled student union candidates and then-St. Michael's College President David Mulroney.

The Mike is the official student newspaper of St. Michael's College in the University of Toronto. I oversaw all internal and some external operations of the newspaper, supervising a staff of 12, plus contributors. During my tenure, we published seven issues of increasing quality. My personal coverage included features about living with bipolar disorder, and internet charlatan David Wolfe, an opinion piece about Monica Crowley and plagiarism, and an article about the language surrounding concussions.

The Mike is the official student newspaper of St. Michael's College in the University of Toronto. I was responsible for creating and curating the content of the newspaper’s Sports section. My brief tenure included coverage of campus gyms and the World Cup of Hockey.
