Provide engineering solutions for research support of fermentation derived biologics using process scale-up techniques (multi-scale fermentation, downstream operations and formulations), production of test material, tech transfer of processes across departments and scales, manufacturing and product support, as well as new technology implementation and optimization.• Completed commissioning and performed in depth process optimization utilizing DOE for a tangential flow filtration unit, a production scale fluidized bed spray dryer, a pilot scale lyophilizer, and a pasteurization unit.• Provided a myriad of test materials for the support of product development through the fermentation and formulation of biologic based products on a variety of scales (30-3000L).• Supported CAPEX projects through the research, design and procurement of large-scale equipment.• Created and implemented full scale spare parts management, mechanical integrity and preventive maintenance systems from the ground up to support site and plant operations.• Solved complex engineering problems regarding site and plant operability and reliability.

Developed and performed processes and experiments dealing with sterilization, strain productivity, engineering enhancement and component recycling, while maintaining overall plant operability.• Cultivated and monitored the site's stock cultures of proprietary production organisms and propagated cells in sufficient quantities for field inoculation in various forms of solar reactors ranging in volumes of 8 to 5,200L.• Created and followed Standard Operating Procedures, while executing the batch protocol and recording data for further analysis pertaining to plant processes, start-up, shut-down, cleaning and batching, which led to the successful CIP and sterilization of a 5,200L bioreactor, drastic cut down of turnaround time and the elimination of costly intermediate steps.• Maintained the biological and analytical laboratory and performed analytical assays as required, such as Collecting and testing samples for pH, oxygen and carbon dioxide content, optical density of cell culture, contamination presence, and the content and nature of various other chemicals and parameters of cultures on all product and in-process streams.• Trained and led teams of technicians as a senior operator, while having meaningful input with management.
