Everybody seems to handle these 'About Me' sections a little differently. I've rewritten this section about three times now, taking a different approach in each. For attempt number four, what do I want to convey to the world? I've had a non-standard path to get where I am now...The majority of folks who become Police Officers STAY Police Officers. It's an intensely rewarding, challenging and (if you do it right) stable job. So, why did I leave? At the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, when we were all doing our best to figure out how to stay safe, I had a lot of time in my patrol vehicle between calls for service to do what a great many of us were doing at the time: re-evaluating my personal passions, goals and the direction I wanted to move in going forward.Ultimately, my personal passion had always been technology, going back to being a teenager. I loved working with, learning about, breaking, fixing... doing everything I could with all different manners of tech to see how and why it worked, and how it could be used to accomplish objectives, push boundaries and make human lives better. After that period of reflection, I decided that although I'd gained a plethora of knowledge, life experiences, perspective, and worked around many fantastic people for which I'll always be grateful - it was time to chase that passion.I'm now lucky enough to work in a field where my enthusiasm and persistent desire to absorb as much as possible contributes to better results for my team & organization!
