At Touchpoint, I lead one our teams in reshaping the restaurant industry through a unified platform that enhances experiences for brands, staff, and guests alike. My role involves leveraging our comprehensive platform which integrates an in-store POS, a mobile ordering app, and advanced features like gift card and payment processing, a leading loyalty system, direct marketing, data analytics, and business intelligence.In addition to managing employees, I work on backend development primarily using PHP, supplemented by C and Python, within a FreeBSD environment. I also contribute to projects involving containerized ETL servers on Linux. Our frontend is built using TypeScript with the Quasar/Vue framework, ensuring compatibility across various platforms.I am actively involved in utilizing and deploying cutting-edge technologies such as ClickHouse, AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, SNS, and SQS, managed through SST/CDK. My contributions are crucial as they directly influence the continuous innovation and maturation of our platform, services, and products.

Developed a comprehensive event management platform that streamlines payment processing and enhances the customer experience for food festivals and events. Utilized AWS, SST, Quasar, VueJS, and TypeScript to create a scalable, reliable, and user-friendly system that has processed tens of thousands of transactions at major events such as Crave Food and Music Festival, Taste of Alpharetta, and Winchester Beer Cheese Festival.The GrubBux platform features a QR code-based system that allows customers to easily reload their accounts and make purchases using their smartphones or custom-printed plastic cards. Implemented a vendor-facing app that simplifies the checkout process, eliminates the need for counting tickets or tokens, and provides real-time sales data. Developed an admin dashboard that offers event organizers granular control over their events, including the ability to track sales, manage inventory, and send targeted push notifications to attendees. By focusing on usability and efficiency, GrubBux has helped event organizers reduce staffing requirements, increase sales, and improve the overall attendee experience.Additionally, GrubBux offers a suite of Food Week apps that enhance attendee engagement and encourage exploration. These apps allow users to browse available menu items, view participating vendors, and track their progress by collecting digital stamps for each item they try. Attendees can favorite dishes they enjoyed and easily keep track of what they've sampled throughout the event. The stamp collection feature gamifies the experience, incentivizing attendees to visit more vendors and try a wider variety of offerings. By collecting a certain number of stamps, attendees are automatically entered into prize drawings, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event.

Worked on a platform that helped reduce recidivism by providing an alternative to incarceration. Wrote PHP/MySQL/JS for the webapp that parole officers and the call center used to track/monitor their participants. Rewrote large chunks of the testing suite to speed it up so that problems could be identified sooner and addressed quickly. Converted existing CSS to SASS (SCSS) and implemented gulp as a build system. Facilitated the migration from the existing nearly unmaintainable jQuery code to a more OO style in line with many popular JS frameworks. Made use of Babel (formerly 6to5) to allow us to write JS in the new ES6 style while still supporting browsers that only run ES5. Added bower to our workflow to allow for simpler upgrading of JS libraries. Worked with CakePHP to collect and process large quantities of data including location data and device status information. Interfaced closely with our call center in order to better the tools they used daily so that they could be more effective in their positions. Worked on code that processes over 1.25 million locations daily to determine if they are in violation based on an extensive set of criteria that our clients can configure. Researched and wrote multiple cross platform iOS/Android applications in Ionic 2/3/4 + Angular 2-7 + Typescript 2/3. Worked tirelessly and lead the effort to fix numerous critical production issues both in our stack and that of our vendors.

Worked with various PHP frameworks and CMS's such as Laravel 2/3, Drupal 6/7, Wordpress, and many custom client solutions both from the ground up and existing codebases. Wrote large Javascript/CSS apps using AngularJS, Bootstrap, LESS, Underscore/lodash, jQuery for clients and maintained their existing frontend code.Managed the migration of a photo site consisting of 300K pictures, architected and implemented all the custom code needed to tie in the designed templates to the backend CMS (Drupal 6). Helped on the upgrading sites from Drupal 5 -> 7 and 6 -> 7. Rewrote extremely important components (registration and funding interface) for a large online gaming/entertaining company which also comprised of extending and maintaining a very large PHP codebase. Worked on a project that required importing large amounts of data from a social network and loading it into a Neo4j DB using a combination of Talend jobs and custom PHP on top of Laravel and providing an interface to perform specific queries with custom parameters.

I co-founded idioBeats with my friend Tyler McCamish over our freshman year summer. It was a site designed to let the users decided what music is popular though a simple digg/reddit/Hacker News type of interface (Vote Up/Down). We worked together to design and code the site. I took on most of the backend programming while my co-founder worked on design and QA testing. The site was in a "gray-black" legal area as the music was pulled from youtube (As there was, and is, no easy way for startups to legally license music). Because of this we pulled the youtube integration rendering the site useless as no new music could be added. idioBeats comes from the Greek word "idios" meaning ones-self or "my" thus the name meant: myBeats. The site is still live, albeit without new music in over a year, and continues to get traffic. All of the users we talked to loved the idea of idioBeats and it is a direct representation of what the users wanted as we were constantly adding features that were requested. Working on idioBeats not only helped me become a much better programmer but it gave me a taste of the "start-up culture" that I will not soon forget. idioBeats was built on PHP, MySQL, HTML5 (Flash was only used as a fallback), jQuery/javascript, and CSS.

Built and maintained multiple websites using Wordpress, Expression Engine, Drupal, and various other PHP/MySQL based CMS’s. Wrote PHP, Python, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL statements to work with and separate of the afore mentioned CMS’s to extend their functionality and add missing features. Modified websites for viewing on mobile devices running iOS, Android, webOS, Windows Mobile, and Blackberry. Wrote mobile applications for iPhone and Android using Titanium Appcelerator mobile.

Founded GigaScan, helped customers select hardware and software to meet their needs, provided services including: virus removal, tune-up, re-installation of the OS, network troubleshooting, data backup and recovery, software and hardware installation, and remote assistance.

Cleaned tables for servers and setup the restaurant at the beginning of the day and help clean up and tear down at the end of the night. My job consisted of cleaning off tables, keeping the bar stocked, assisting servers with large parties, and any odd-job that needed to be done.

Automated many repetitive processes, was in charge of creating virtual tours of homes and videos for posting on major realtor websites, and day-to-day management of the office.
