Hello and welcome my name is Joshua Todd.Shortly after starting at Hallite in Wixom Michigan i started to become acclimated with the machinery my supervisor started teaching me to set up machines and a little about programming, I already knew how to read prints and use our tooling for measurements. I was the first operator be tough how to set up while operating. I thought it was normal for people to be tough how to set up and program to improve work flow, I found out later that operators were not supposed to be doing anything other than running the machinery. It didn't take long for other operators to catch on and start approaching me when they had a problem, because it was often easier to find me for help then a tech or supervisor.This is where I differ from other operator’s, I have the knowledge base to complete change overs with little help other than to complete the process in a timely fashion. Completing tool change and geometry touch offs, program acquisition from our internal network, reading correcting and or writing basic programs are some of the many skills that I have acquired over the years at Hallite. I have basic knowledge of G and M codes and I am currently enrolled at Washtenaw Community College in the NCT 101 course introduction to the CnC machine tools. I have never been afraid to take up a challenge or try to learn something that is considered hard, this just make me want to understand it more.My goals:- To graduate from WCC’s Mechatronics Program.- Set up and programming of Mills and Lathes.- To get away from being an operator and to take on more responsibilities.To contact me e-mail me at jotodd@wccnet.edu or call (810) 599-9199
