I plan and implement monthly school-wide faculty meetings. I also collaborate weekly with the school administrator to design appropriate professional development opportunities for teachers.

Advise the Superintendent of Shenandoah County Public Schools on budgets, calendars, and educational issues in the school division.

I helped establish a ‘Seminar’ program at Central High School that helps meet students’ needs in soft skills, social-emotional growth, future career goals, and academic preparedness. I also helped design a curriculum to coincide with this program. In addition, I currently serve as the leader of the Sophomore Seminar teachers in addition to teaching a pilot class.See interview attached:

I meet regularly with the school administration to develop a graduation capstone program and student handbook. I also collaborated with this group to design the project to meet the requirements under Virginia’s Profile of a Graduate.

Supervise student officers in fundraising and homecoming event responsibilities

I attend yearly conferences from the VDOE and report back to my school and county about the changes in the Social Studies SOLs.

Two Coffee Teachers is a Professional Learning Network and Podcast that I co-founded and host. Our goal is to engage a community of educators in a dialogue about education and relevant content that can be applied in our classrooms. Through a podcast I produce on iTunes every two weeks, and conversations over social media, we hope to encourage educators without them needing that "second cup of coffee."
