I am Acting Director and Professor of Environmental and Resource Economics in the School of Sustainability at Arizona State University. I am also an affiliated faculty member of the School of Ocean Futures, the Department of Economics, and the Center for Environmental Economics and Sustainability Policy at ASU. My research focuses on sustainable fisheries, environmental valuation, and natural resource management. My work combines theoretical models from bioeconomics with statistical and econometric techniques to help policymakers and stakeholders achieve more efficient, effective, and sustainable policy outcomes. I work in a number of domains including fisheries management, marine policy, municipal water management, and the valuation of natural capital for improved metrics of ecosystem-based management and sustainable development.
