    I started here as a submerged arc welder in the early stages of this plant. I would assist and eventually lead in research and development of the new processes this type of wind turbine manufacturing required. Management noticed potential and ambition; leading to a promotion to spiral mill production supervisor. My team and I successfully worked towards proving this one of a kind machine could do what it was designed to do, which is continuously rolling and welding a spiral designed wind tower. The beveling and black fabrication departments were later added to my list of responsibilities. We worked on issues in both areas, some were quick and easy while others required a lot of time, training, procedure changes, etc. After several months, we have finally moved further away from R&D and into production. Working to consistently meet production goals while maintaining regular training on safety policies, quality standards, and work procedures.
