As the leader of a highly skilled team of designers, I drive the design and successful release of software for our members. While some of my responsibilities involve personnel management, I prioritize inspiring and empowering the team to achieve their best work. At the heart of my leadership philosophy is a commitment to responsible transparency and candor, fostering a workplace that is both challenging and rewarding.Currently, our team is engaged in supporting multiple work streams for Product Development & Innovation in the Property & Casualty space within USAA. We leverage workshops, Human-Centered Design practices, and regular research to deliver innovative solutions. Working in close partnership with our business and development counterparts, we prioritize understanding the goals of the organization, which range from increasing policy sales to understanding member sentiment. Our objective is not simply to create design artifacts, but to shape the broader business strategy.As a Senior Designer at USAA, I collaborated with my team to completely revamp the Homeowner's Insurance digital product. We implemented Agile design sprints and continually improved our processes throughout the project. In addition, we leveraged Google-style design sprints to guide our decision-making and prioritize our testing and validation efforts. By regularly checking in with our business partners, we were able to stay on track and deliver a product that truly met their needs.Previously, as a Senior UX Designer at projekt202, I worked on a range of Enterprise-level projects for multiple clients. My experience with Agile methodology and user-centered design allowed me to effectively communicate with delivery team members and stakeholders alike. The work my team and I contributed to at Southwest Airlines lead to the modernization of a very outdated software suite and helped the airline scale as they expanded operations. I've done freelance work in the past varying from illustrations to publication design.
