While earning my BSc and MSc degrees in Biochemistry at Ruhr-University Bochum I came into contact with machine learning and fell in love. Especially its application in a medical imaging context provided interesting opportunites for both of my thesis projects (supervised by Prof. Klaus Gerwert and Prof. Axel Mosig).Since then I have joined the Bioinformatics lab of the newly founded Center for Protein Diagnostics (ProDi, Bochum) and in 2022 completed my PhD, where the main research focus was the utilization of deep learning methods in medical infrared and Raman imaging problems (advised by Prof. Axel Mosig and Prof. Martin Eisenacher).Currently I am a Postdoc in Japan at the Tokyo Institute of Technology and the RIKEN AIP AI Security & Privacy Team, focussing on Computational Pathology.
