Researched turbulence in the human upper airway in order to develop a better understanding of sleep apnea. Used Ansys Fluent for computational fluid dynamics and MATLAB for custom post-processing routines.• Saved approximately $20,000 in system integration costs (as compared to the equivalent performance offering from Dell) for three computational fluid dynamics workstations – specified hardware/software for and constructed dual-processor, 12-core systems with multi-user remote access/administration capability via Active Directory• Implemented virtualization of Linux within Windows 7 using VMware, allowing multiple remote users to access both operating systems simultaneously and avoid the costs associated with having a separate workstation for Linux-only software• Developed a suite of CFD post-processing utilities in Matlab and R for visualizing transient solution data in the form of still images as well as animated scenes
