PromotionAs an Electronic Communications System Technician my primary duty is to provide support for the WSP public safety communication system, and their Speed Measuring Devices (aka RADARs). As a journeyman level technician, I provide mission critical day to day maintenance, installation, and training for portable and mobile two-way radio systems, telecommunications devices (VoIP), RADARs, and other various electronic equipment. I work closely with Management, Field Technicians, Command Staff, WSP subscribers, and other State Agencies which utilize WSP infrastructure. This includes project planning, providing repair and maintenance of issued electronic equipment, answering technical questions, providing familiarization training, or assisting the customer with problem resolution by referring them to the appropriate resource. Personally responsible for over 200 subscribers, and over 2.5 million dollars’ worth of equipment.

My duties included, but were not limited to, installing lights, sirens, two-way mobile radio equipment, Radar systems, antennas, and prisoner restraints into State Patrol vehicles. This process starts with building a customized wiring harness, which is incorporated into the factory vehicle wiring, in order to provide power and communication to all the components. The installation process requires the removal and modification of several factory vehicle components. Use of hand operated power tools, wiring diagrams, schematics, verbal instructions, and personal judgment are employed to complete an installation. Once installed, items are programmed to Agency approved specifications using a programmable total vehicle integration unit. Items are then run through a battery of testing to ensure 100% operational readiness. I then documented labor and quantities of installed equipment into the Agency’s work order system.Upon the release of a new wireless network antenna, I was the primary installer responsible for a state-wide retrofitting of over 400 agency vehicles. This required traveling to each of the 8 Districts, scheduling appointments, communicating with each Trooper and their Sergeant, and installation each antenna in a timely manner. In addition to the installation of the standardized equipment, I was the primary Installer of the equipment related to the Mobile Office Platform. This platform consists of the Mobile Video System and the computer docking port. This position required the tracking of equipment life cycles to ensure compliance with litigation sensitive standards, notifying individuals of upcoming expiration dates, the co-ordination of equipment upgrades for deployed vehicles, and professional customer service while interacting with the Troopers. This position required an extensive background investigation and polygraph test to qualify for employment.

Pastor for a local Missionary Baptist Church for the last 6 years. As a Pastor, I provide spiritual leadership to members of a church. Duties include preparing weekly sermons, preaching and conducting worship services. I'm responsible for interpreting biblical scripture for the congregation. I also provide care and counseling to church members and assist them in crisis situations. At times I am required to officiate at special services, such as baptisms and funerals. I collaborate with other church leaders to delegate duties related to church services and facility upkeep. Job hours are irregular, as I must divide my time between conducting worship services, attending social events at the church, and completing administrative duties.

As the ATF Compliance Outfitter, my primary responsibility was ensuring the customer completed the Federal 4473 Form, and any applicable State forms, necessary for the sale and transfer of firearms. This position required a delicate balance between customer satisfaction, and 100% compliance with Federal laws, State Laws, and store policies. This often required me to walk a customer through the process step-by-step, while maintaining a helpful and open attitude. During times of high sales volumes, maintaining this balance created a fast-paced, high-stress environment that required a significant degree of efficiency and teamwork. I was the person that would step in and to resolve any conflicts and ensure the customer left satisfied. A high level of attention to detail was required, as the process accepts nothing less than 100% accuracy. Spelling of the customer’s full legal name, current address, and firearm information must all be properly inputted to ensure compliance. After completion of the forms, the information would then be uploaded to the Federal National Instant Check System (NICS). At times where the results would come back with a “Delay” or “Denial,” I would then need to provide the customer with the necessary information to resolve the issue. Half-way through my employment a new electronic E-check system was implemented, requiring the learning of the new software system and process change. This position required that I maintain a thorough knowledge of any changes to local and Federal firearms laws to ensure continued compliance. In addition to my primary responsibilities, I was also required to have a working knowledge of the numerous products and services that were available in my department. Throughout my employment I would take advantage of training made available for specific product lines. This ensured that I was able to provide accurate, and relatable, information to products that customers were regularly interested in.

My primary duty was to compile, structure, and process data and materials necessary for the release of consumer electronic products. I was responsible for gathering all of the raw data, and hand drawn sketches, and processing it. I would review the data for accuracy, and then input it into multiple Data Files. These would be used to program the various products. Hand drawn sketches were turned into Engineering Drawings which would be sent to various vendors for the production of the individual components. This position required me to learn a Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software: AutoCAD LT. After quickly becoming proficient at AutoCAD LT, I would later become proficient in SolidWorks, which allowed for 3D rendering of various components.After creation of the data files and engineering drawings, I would build a prototype unit and perform testing. This involved assembling components, building a wiring harness, programming the control unit, and installing it onto the test vehicles. After testing, any discrepancies would then be corrected to ensure the final product performed satisfactorily. I would track the current status of each new application, and generate a weekly report notifying several departments of the status of each new product being developed. I would track all of the warranty repairs and generate a monthly report to ensure the department delivered timely customer service. In addition to my Engineering Technician duties, I worked regularly with the Electronic Repair Technicians completing warranty repairs. I would perform troubleshooting on returned units and repair them with the aid of schematics, diagrams, multi-meters, and oscilloscopes.Collaborating with the Supply Department, I was involved in taking the outdated, paper-based, product structuring system and turn it into a semi-automated electronic system. It was determined that it improved the product structuring process by 40%, saving hundreds of man hours, and eliminating costly errors.

Working for Diamond M Drilling, I assisted the Driller in the completion of residential and commercial water wells. This consisted of operating heavy machinery, power tools, and hand tools. This position required the manual manipulation of heavy materials, and a high consciousness for physical safety. The working environment was primarily outside in an area that saw extreme heat and cold. Job locations would usually be in undeveloped areas that required traveling on unfinished roads, working in remote areas, and working in dirty, wet, and noisy environments. In addition to the drilling of the well, I also assisted in the installation necessary parts and equipment needed to provide water to a residence. This includes well pumps, water lines, control boxes, pressure tanks, pressure switches. I was involved in multiple projects that involved the installation of a fire-suppression system required in residential subdivisions. This includes multiple 10,000 gallon cisterns, pumping stations, fire-hydrants, water lines, and other necessary parts and equipment.

My primary duty was the maintenance and operation of the MK41 Vertical Launching System. The MK41 VLS is the Department of Defense's most advanced, multi-million dollar, guided missile system. It consists of many parts including: mechanical, hydraulic, electronic, and fire-control systems. Duties included a regimen of preventative maintenance procedures, along with troubleshooting and repairing of faulty equipment.The MK41 Vertical Launching System also contained two fire-suppression systems: the ordinance magazine sprinkler system, and the missile canister deluge system. Both of these systems required regular preventative maintenance, and testing procedures. Operated as Work Center Supervisor, overseeing junior personnel in their training, work assignments, and professional conduct. In addition to my primary duty, I was also a member of the ship’s Small Craft Attack Team. This team was responsible for the ship’s safety in close-quarter operations. I was assigned to operate and maintain an electronic 25MM chain gun in multiple Counter-Narcotic Deployments. Due to the harsh nature of the Pacific Ocean, corrosion control was a constant battle. I was able to identify and repair two different electronic trigger faults, saving the cost of replacement of $9,000. I regularly operated as the On Duty Gunner’s Mate, whose job it was to issue firearms to personal on guard duty. This position also required gathering temperature data on the ship’s various ordinance magazines to ensure safe operating conditions. I received extensive training in first aid, firefighting, threat assessment, firearms marksmanship, leadership, and ship operation. I consistently pursued qualifications and duties typically reserved for higher ranking positions. I received several awards and medals for professional conduct and exemplary performance.
