Developed a bread-board, high-power laser system (frequency-doubled Ti:sapphire ring laser) with fiber-optic applicator to characterize dental calculus ablation at 400 nm. Optimized laser parameters for a clinical setting by working with scientists and clinicians. Constructed and operated several complex optical systems: high-power pulsed solid-state lasers, laser profilometer, and fluorescence spectrometer. Optimized SHG using C++ code in SNLO. Wrote Matlab algorithms for 3D image acquisition, processing, and analysis. Presented results in journals and at conferences.
