Products:* Peaxy Lifecycle Intelligence (PLI): Cloud-based platform that enables customers to be better owners and operators of their industrial equipment. PLI receives telemetry data from wind turbines, grid-scale batteries, oil rigs, etc. and uses this data to visualize current and historical performance and to calculate current and predict future revenue. Using algorithms trained against historical telemetry, PLI can also evaluate changes in residual values which can identify anomalies before they lead to mechanical faults.* Peaxy Fast Proposal (PFP): A model orchestration platform that uses physics and financial models to develop configuration and financial scenarios which allow a customer to evaluate options based on key performance indicators. PFP has been used to model gas and steam powered power plants, wind farms, and grid-scale battery deployments.* Aureum: Software-defined storage system which leverages virtualization technologies to build a scalable, high-performance data platform ideal for unstructured data, at internet-scale capacity, and for use with advanced data analytics.Accomplishments:* Lead the engineering team in developing two new products: Peaxy Lifecycle Intelligence and Peaxy Fast Proposal. These products are deployed as a collection of microservices and use a combination of relational databases and object stores (S3 / Blob Storage) for persistence.* Deployed versions of PLI and PFP into Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.* Kept alignment among a geographically distributed team with engineers in Australia, Canada, Italy, and Sweden.* Released five high quality, on time feature updates for the Aureum data platform which added compute and analytics capabilities to the product.* Responsible for a team of 25 development and QA engineers.

Product: AureumAccomplishments:* Released to the market a scalable, robust, and highly reliable system that is used in production by Fortune 50 customers.* Built a QA organization of automation specialists to ensure that there was always exhaustive and comprehensive test coverage of all core features.* Maintain the automated regression test system: Leveraging the GitHub source code repository, the Jenkins continuous integration server, and the server resources provided by Amazon Web Services, every commit triggers a merge with the top-of-tree, a build, and a deployment of software artifacts on a cluster built in EC2. Once a cluster is formed, a series of file system and systems management functional tests are executed. A successful pass of all steps in this sequence results in the commit being merged to the top-of-tree.* Developed hundreds of automated tests that exercised core POSIX file system APIs supported by the Hyperfiler.* Exercised the capabilities of the system management server through its available REST APIs.* Worked with the development team to ensure that test interfaces were made available that allowed for more precise testing than is capable when exercising the system as a "black box".

Product:SnapScale: A highly scalable and clustered implementation of the venerable SnapServer workgroup NAS.Accomplishments:* Developed the Test Plan and strategy for the SnapScale product.* Ensured the SnapScale product was a system of excellent quality and reliability in preparation for its initial release.* Implemented systematic, automated testing of file system regression tests.* Supported the team in learning Python and in the development of automated tests for new product features.

Product:MaxiScale File System: Cloud-scale clustered file system built for Web 2.0 with linear performance scalability and the ability to service file requests in a single disk operation.Accomplishments:* Managed the five-person QA team whose number one goal was to ship software of outstanding quality.* Authored all of the Test Plans used for MaxiScale’s 1.0 software release.* Set up engineering databases: JIRA for bug tracking and TestLink for test case management.* Established a rigorous automated test framework using AnthillPro to execute functional tests on every commit to the source code repository, with more exhaustive test suites that ran overnight.* Wrote over 30,000 lines of test code in Python to exercise core product functionality.* Co-authored the automated test harness and report database used at MaxiScale. Product:SiliconServer: BlueArc’s FPGA-based server appliance that bridges NAS and SAN to offer wire-speed Gigabit Ethernet performance for Windows and Unix file services, and iSCSI block services.Accomplishments:* Defined the QA methodology in use at BlueArc.* Deployed an automation test harness based on CodeSourcery's QMTest for running automated regression tests.* Worked tirelessly to ensure the SiliconServer was an enterprise-class product. At the time of my departure, BlueArc's Titan SiliconServer had a field-proven 99.996% uptime.* Directly responsible for a team of twelve engineers, with two team leads.* Assisted in field escalations. Closed the loop on field issues through updates to our test procedures or by updating our documentation.* Built the engineering lab from the ground up.* Deployed and contributed substantial content to a cross-functional, corporate knowledge base using the Plone Content Management System.

Product:Snap Server: The first and (at the time) best workgroup NAS on the market. It supported all of the main network protocols (SMB/CIFS, NFS, NCP, AFP) and RAID array types (0, 1, 5).Accomplishments:* Managed a team of seven software QA engineers.* Represented QA in beta trials; replicated issues and raised defects as necessary.* Learned Windows, Unix, NetWare, and AppleTalk based networking at a very low level.* Trained new Software QA Engineers in networking, Windows and Novell servers, the Snap Server product, quality objectives, and SQA testing methodology.* Wrote and executed Test Plans for new software features.* Tracked down problems by obtaining network captures using Ethereal (now Wireshark) or Network Monitor.
