I am a Safety Performance engineer working for General Motors. My current role is a Lead Safety Integration engineer. I am responsible for leading the occupant safety integration team in designing and optimizing the restraint system to meet regulatory requirements, consumer metric targets, and GM internal requirements. I also create, plan, and execute the overall vehicle safety integration assessment plan including CAE and physical assessments (barrier, sled, and static testing). I perform post-test data analysis, component inspections, and determine design changes to improve performanceMy most recent previous role was a Post-Crash Electrical Integrity and Structural Performance Engineer working on future EV programs. I am responsible for ensuring all post-crash electrical requirements are met including: HV discharge, On-Star Functionality, hazard light activation, and other requirements. These requirements are validated using various full vehicle crash tests, component level tests, electrical bench tests, and CAE assessments.I have also previously held roles as an occupant safety performance engineer. In these roles I was responsible for ensuring the vehicles met regulatory safety requirements, met or exceeded program consumer metric targets (US NCAP, IIHS, etc.), and that internal requirements are met. I was responsible for planning, organizing, conducting, and assessing various full vehicle crash tests, system level tests, and component level tests, and CAE analysis. Based on the results of these assessments, I lead various teams to develop and validate countermeasures to enable the required performance.My first position at GM was a seat belt design release engineer at GM. In this role I was responsible for integrating seat belt systems into vehicle programs.I am a hard worker, I give 100 percent on everything that I do. They way I see it, if I am going to do something I might as well do it to the best of my ability. I am always eager to learn new things and I am not afraid to ask questions in order to understand things. I am a good team worker and I am always trying to improve my skills as a team member.
