I began working with Garrett County Economic Development (GCED) in January 2020 as the Business Development Specialist. Prior to joining GCED, I was an employee and department manager for Hunter Douglas for 13 years. Over that timeframe, I was able to earn my Bachelor of Science Degree from Frostburg State University in Business Administration. While in manufacturing, I successfully obtained my Green Belt Certification for Six Sigma and significant training on lean manufacturing. In 2012, I completed the Garrett College Paramedic Certification program. In 2014, I joined Garrett County Emergency Services where he served as a Lieutenant Paramedic. In the fall of 2019, I completed my Master of Business Administration in 2019 from Frostburg State University, graduating with honors. As the current Business Development Specialist for Garrett County, I serve as a liaison between Garrett County Economic Development and the Municipalities of Garrett County. Additionally, I am assisting with the broadband expansion project as it evolves throughout the county. Finally, I will seek to build relationships with new and tenured businesses throughout Garrett County in order to promote economic growth.Community involvement is very important to me. I am a member of the Deep Creek Volunteer Fire Company. I have served with the company for 15 years and is the current acting President and Chairman. In addition, I also serve as the president of the Swift Water Rescue Team for Garrett County, which formally organized in 2019. My strengths include leadership, team building, quality control, personnel management, and relationship building. I pride myself on success and a commitment to excellence. Not all being personal success, rather the success of other individuals and teams.
