I am a graduate of NEIT with a bachelor's in software engineering and an associates in information technology. I have worked at The Paper Store for 4 years as a sales associate for my first job. During my time there I have held 2 different rankings that correspond to different responsibilities. My responsibilities when I started were customer support, ringing people out, and stocking. After two years they increased my rank at the store and in turn gained responsibilities such as handling returns, taking inventory, counting registers, and unpacking shipments. After graduating from NEIT I worked at The Beacon Mutual Insurance Company for 6 months as a temporary help desk technician while a team member was away. Initially, it was a 3 months position but due to my professionalism and abilities, the company extended my role for 3 more months. Over these 6 months, I provided technical support and assistance to policyholders, agents, and all employees, worked on software and hardware-related projects affecting employees company-wide, managed users on the company portal by creating, editing, deleting, unlocking, and providing support for user accounts, consulted with team members and team leads escalating issues requiring advanced administrative access, and deployed company-wide mobile applications to all company IOS and Android devices. Through my jobs at The Paper Store and The Beacon Mutual Insurance Company, I have learned to work hard, have patience, handle responsibilities, and work as a team. On top of that, my time at NEIT has given me the necessary training and knowledge to now apply what I have learned thus far to my future career as a software engineer.
