- During fall 2023, I taught three sections of first-year writing courses: 2 sections of English 1101 (focus on rhetoric); 1 section of English 1102 (focus on research). During spring 2024, I taught 1 section of English 1102.- I introduced ABAC's poet-in-residence, Dr. Jeff Newberry, at a public reading at the Syd Blackmarr Arts Center in Tifton, 19 Oct. 2023, and at the on-campus book launch for his poetry collection, How to Talk about the Dead, 7 March 2024.

- I taught five sections per semester of first-year writing courses: English 1101 (focus on rhetoric, 5 sections total); English 1102 (focus on research, 15 sections total).- During the 2019-2020 year, my English 1102 courses were themed on technology’s social effects and included, during the first month, reading and in-class discussion of a young adult novel, M.T. Anderson’s Feed. Students then had liberty to develop their own more specific topics for research, such as social media and Internet addiction, the evolution of online journalism, and innovations in medical technology.- Due to COVID-19, during the 2020-2021 year I taught courses in a hybrid format, with most curriculum presented in the online learning management system as well as in-person classes. For online instruction, I created written and video lectures, curated online resources such as YouTube videos to maximize student engagement and comprehension, and administered peer review on essays in Google Docs.- Professional development: Teaching Online Courses, a course administered by Laura Reefer and Peter Berryman, Center for Teaching Excellence, spring 2020.- I guest-lectured via Zoom on writing science fiction for a creative writing course taught by Niloufar Sarabi, Orange County School of the Arts, October 2020.

April - May 2017:- Under the supervision of the Gateway to Georgetown program manager, performed various logistical duties related to educational exchange programs hosted by the Center for Intercultural Education and Development (CIED), such as administering end-of-program evaluations, preparing classrooms, and cold-calling local manufacturers to arrange field trips.- Supervised large groups of French exchange students on field trips to local manufacturers.- Working with Director of Latin American Programs, translated $1+ million budget for program grant into format and categorization of expenditures specified by grantor (U.S. State Department). Sophisticated use of Microsoft Excel was required.- July 2017 (additional): under the direction of accounting personnel, performed office management work related to processing invoices from overseas program personnel, including copying, scanning, filing, and data entry. Some use of Microsoft Excel was required.

- Oversaw entire purview of communications for the UMD College of Education, with support from development and alumni relations staff in the Office of Advancement, under the supervision of the Director of Development and Alumni Relations (later the Assistant Dean of Development).- Wrote for College of Education publications, e.g. the alumni magazine Endeavors; newsletters for faculty, staff, students, and alumni; the annual report; fundraising cases; and press releases.- Edited large publications, e.g. Endeavors and The Benjamin Bulletin (monthly newsletter); conceptualized stories and themes; coordinated with various stakeholders, including faculty, staff, alumni, advancement director, freelance designer, and printer; provided copy editing and feedback to other writers on team (alumni and donor relations personnel).- Created and managed email marketing campaigns, mainly centered around college publications (e.g. Endeavors and The Benjamin Bulletin), using MailChimp.- Conducted inquiries and interviews with faculty about their research, with students about their courses and work in the community, and with teachers about their professional work.- Coordinated media relations for the College of Education, putting journalists in touch with faculty experts on topics in education.- Kept informed about goings-on in the College of Education and its satellite research centers and labs.- Performed some ad hoc duties, e.g. researching, preparing, and scripting presentations for the Dean to give to faculty, alumni, and prospective donors; editing recruitment materials for the Office of Student Services; coordinating with college personnel in various offices and departments to update information on the College of Education website; and serving on the website redesign committee (for the first year, in a leadership capacity as one of three people on the steering committee).

- Under supervision of the Director of Communications, wrote for College of Education publications, e.g. the alumni magazine Endeavors; newsletters for faculty, staff, students, and alumni; fundraising cases; and press releases.- Annual Report ("Imagining the Future of Education: Fearless Ideas in Action"): Helped develop themes, stories, and other content; coordinated with various faculty to distill essence of wide-ranging research projects in brief pieces; wrote all content and worked with Director of Communications in close editorial collaboration; managed publication through printing and distribution after the Director of Communications left the college.

- Under the supervision of the directors of the academic and creative writing programs, taught two courses of Academic Writing (English 101) and two courses of Beginning Poetry Workshop (English 273).- For two semesters, assisted Dr. Linda Coleman with teaching Practical Grammar (Journalism 181), including tutoring students in group sessions and administering exams.

- Taught 11th grade American literature, grammar, and composition to targeted small-class groups of at-risk, non-performing, and/or challenged teenagers.- Integrated an array of differentiated activities for comprehensive learning across students' ability levels and intelligence types.- Originated creative catalysts for student attention and involvement, such as dramatic rehearsals and readings, physical demonstrations of concepts, and comparative literature studies.- Implemented intensive three-month training regimen for essay writing; thereafter, 85% of my students passed the writing portion of the graduation test.- Provided thorough, focused instruction in thematics, reading comprehension, and literary devices; 59% of my students passed the American Literature End-of-Course Test.

- Tutored Spanish grammar and common usage to college students.- Implemented scheduled tutoring regimens for struggling students, with some significant successes in helping students recover in difficult classes.- Assisted college professors with presentations and preparations for classes.

- Collaborated with students in various stages of writing academic essays, providing advice and instruction on structure, style, audience, purpose, and grammar.- Mentored in the craft of collaborative tutoring by an English professor as part of a required course for the college's tutors.- Tutored English and Spanish grammar and common usage to college students.
