Working as a general assistant at the Express on the High Street (all departments) and Extra superstore (under the grocery department) has meant I have:* Handled money with customers and securely packaged lifts (counting and sending money over a certain high value limit to a secure office) *Conformed to strict health and safety practices, making sure the stock and shop is safe for customers. This was especially important when I am responsible for waste and reductions, trusted to ensure stock is still safe to consume and reduced accordingly, while waste is handled efficiently and securely thrown away to discourage pests. *Used multi-tasking and time keeping skills as I have managed completing multiple tasks at once for optimum efficiency. For example working stock at the same time as working the till while I was in express or prioritising certain jobs depending on the expected workload, especially important when my manager was not in. * A valuable member of the team at both stores, as my managers would attest, able to work well with others, and effectively lead if needed, but also able to work independently.*Built a rapport with members of the public to ensure they have an enjoyable shopping trip so that they feel welcome and receive the experience they deserve, especially true in Express, where I saw many shoppers several times a week.
