Hired on to train for the Online Store Manager position. Worked across all local store locations where needed to provide professional and friendly customer service in the retail and bar areas of each store. Became familiar with the retail system Comcash, learning how to efficiently process transactions for product, adjust inventory, and check sales reports. Became efficient in opening and closing procedures for the store locations, including filling out nightly financial drops. Regularly updated inventories based on product type, assisted in ordering and receiving of new product, would make deliveries when needed. Also went above and beyond by offering days off to help the owner complete the construction of a new store that opened shortly after my employment.

I complete twice weekly inventories of all bar products (liquor, beer, wine, soda, etc.) and order accordingly for the company. I am in charge of all of the front of house staff for the restaurant (servers, hosts, bussers, and bartenders). It is my duty to coach and guide staff during each shift, ensuring proper service to all customers. Attended NC State's Forestry Summer Camp Program, where I took part in a 9 week series of classes learning about forest mensuration and mapping, fire ecology and management, wildlife ecology and habitats, coastal and mountain forest communities, and silviculture. During this series of classes, I honed skills like cruising timber, plant identification, habitat management, and got certified as a Type 2 Wildland Firefighter.

I worked in a team-based environment with one of my professors and a classmate to compile information and other data on various wood products found in North Carolina. We organized this data into an easily navigable spreadsheet format. Finally, we selected 10-15 products for two categories (construction materials/furniture and decorative/crafts/etc.) to create two brochures to present at a booth at the 2018 International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta, Georgia through the Wood Products Extension at NC State. In addition to the experience, it was our responsibility to plan and log our own working hours during the week while efficiently completing our work from home, with weekly meetings with our supervising professor.
