Growing up on a farm between Monticello and Williamstown in Northeast Missouri Dr. Josh moved away to Northwest Missouri State University to do his undergrad work. NWMSU is also where he met his beautiful wife Shanen who is a native of St. Joseph, MO. He earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic Degree at Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, MO. After graduation he moved to St. Joseph, MO to carry on a chiropractic practice that has been a staple in St. Joseph for over 50 years. Dr. Middendorf worked along side Dr. Gerald Yurth whose father started the practice at 1512 S. 27th in 1958. This gave Dr. Middendorf the opportunity to glean from Dr. Yurths experience and sharpen his chiropractic skills before Dr. Yurth retired.In 2013 Dr. Josh began working with the Institute of Evidence Based Chiropractic to use the most reliable research-derived evidence to enact clinic systems and protocols. This in turn ensures that patients get an accurate diagnosis and fast effective results, without the use of unnecessary x-rays or unproven treatments that are often peddled by other chiropractors. Evidence-based chiropractic has been shown to provide patients with greater reduction in pain, greater patient satisfaction, greater rates of full recovery, less expense, and less need for continuing care.
