In my 5 years at Oceanside Logistics I have developed and grown the transport side of the business. I have done this through building relationships with major clients and suppliers to gain favourable rates which has delivered good profits for the company and established loyalty with both parties. On staring at Oceanside the transport side of the business moved around 5 to 10 containers a day which has now grown to between 40 and 50 and this is managed solely by myself. The role as transport logistics co-ordinator is to manage and co-ordinate the movement and transport of containers around the world ensuring that accurate information and arrangements are in place so that everything arrives on time. The deliveries can be out sourced to external transport companies along with managing our own fleet of drivers which requires strong people skills, empathy and clear communication. In the event of delays around the port quick thinking is required and different arrangements have to be made to ensure the client’s needs are met. Problem solving is a key part of the job, as each day can bring its own set of problems as we are relying on the quay functioning properly, motorways running correctly and weather changes. Although my role is independent it is essential I keep a strong line of communication with the import team to ensure we are on top of any changes or problems that could affect deliveries.

Setting up the 3D Printer side of the business involving setting up the website and directing the design of (www.apple3d.co.uk), PPC Campaign using Google Adwords, analyse how the website is performing through Google analytics and refining the users experience and conversation rate. I also negotiated product price and purchase through visiting suppliers and building relationships with them. I promoted our product by creating e shots using mail chimp and html and following this through with personalised sales calls and customer visits and out sales are managed through the CRM Pipedrive.
