Joshua Rabi, born a first generation American, was raised with the belief that all people deserve a chance to make a change. He spent his early career in the fashion industry manufacturing handbags for his family business where he fostered and expanded relationships with brands like Calvin Klein and DKNY. During that time he expanded his creative practice to music while moonlighting as a DJ in the East Village. In his time working within various hospitality establishments, he astutely noticed that when staffers would not show up for their shift, the whole infrastructure of the establishment would be stressed and result in less overall profit. As a result of this frustrating and age-old issue, he decided to embark on a mission to empower staffers and offer on demand solutions for hospitality management. Through this calling, Serve Us was born - a tool for bars and restaurants to instantly employ vetted, experienced people for last second shifts they desperately need within the hour. The ability to offer opportunities to varied and vast communities has supported underserved groups like the previously incarcerated, the refugee community, and veterans to get the work they desperately need. Because of Serve Us' passion to serve their communities, they have created an alliance with the Fortune Society and Exodus, who help bring jobs to people who are reacclimatizing into society and are dire need of a second chance. In efforts to further the impact that Serve Us has on the hospitality industry, they have also facilitated a partnership with Unilever’s Fair Kitchens, an initiative which ensures equal and fair treatment of hospitality workers in the kitchen. Josh, through Serve Us and Unilever's Fair Kitchens, has made it his life goal to create a platform that upholds businesses to fair treatment and supports hardworking people from all walks of life to find work. With each shift filled, Serve Us is helping to build a better future the hospitality industry at large.
