As a freelance journalist and live show producer, I co-hosted for FWB (featured on New York Times, Washington Post, New Yorker), I led two live shows that brought together top performers from diverse fields, including biological research, computer science, open-source communities, and digital media. Over two years, I co-hosted engaging discussions that delved into the thought processes, mindsets, and decision-making strategies of leading experts.One of my shows focused on state-of-the-art health research, examining personal studies on health and the societal impact of large-scale diseases like COVID-19 and its mutations. As a machine learning researcher, software engineer, and computational biology pipeline designer, my work in the Marks Lab at the Blavatnik Institute’s Department of Systems Biology at Harvard Medical School involved the development of cutting-edge tools for neurodegenerative disease drug development, CRISPR-Cas9 targeting, cryptobiosis inducing protein design, and computational analyses of protein structures.I contributed to computational projects creating and using machine learning models to predict protein structure and mutation effects across various biological systems, including the SARS-CoV-2 proteome and intrinsically disordered proteins. One of my focus areas involved identifying cryptobiosis-inducing sequence segments, utilizing the evolutionary history of the biological phenomenon to better understand the mechanisms, and optimizing those functions to develop new druggable sequences.I created tools to predict and analyze off-target effects of cutting-edge paired CRISPR-dCas9 systems. These tools allowed for precise identification of pairs of custom Protospacer Adjacent Motifs and prediction for potential off-target genes. I was responsible for designing the targeting system, implementing it based on the latest research, and documenting the software for use by the wider scientific community, with plans for patenting and open-source publication.Throughout my tenure, I collaborated with prestigious labs at Harvard Medical School, MIT, WEHI, and the University of Washington on projects funded by organizations like iARPA, DARPA, and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI). These collaborations gave me the opportunity to work with diverse, interdisciplinary teams and mentors while driving impactful research forward.This experience, along with my passion for computational biology and system design, fuels my commitment to advancing biomedical research through innovative technology.

Translated the concepts and requirements of the Digital Skills For All project into specifications and workable tasks. Wrote conceptual and proposal documentation for the project.Acclimated and managed interns working on web design, breaking down tasks and descriptions for them to accurately follow specifications.

Worked on the 2018 Computing for All competition website back end, using PHP and HTML in Wordpress. My main role was to create the registration pages and processing to accommodate a new year of the CFA coding competition and debug any database issues that came along with that.

During this time I joint-created an HTML course with Jion Yi, which is currently in use to teach a web development course at Computing Kids. And begun structuring and designing a new data science course. I also designed an Introduction to Data Science course, breaking down the concepts needed to successfully breakdown and complete data science projects.

I taught three computer science courses with Computing Kids, two as a lead teacher and one as an assistant. During this I got to work with a wide variety of students simplifying and teaching computational thinking and web development. Teaching these courses brought out my desire to expand educational practices and lead me to curriculum development.

Served as rehearsal and producing associate for communicating between artists and production for the new work Chilifinger. Organized rehearsal spaces and consistently updated scripts for the artists, Learned about new works processing and production from professionals.

Assisted in production of new musicals during the NextFest development festival. Worked closely with the festival producer to support the artists. Dealt with high-stress production difficulties like communicating between festival associates and solving scheduling constraints with math.

Developed designs for mechanical 3D scanning and machine learning tools to identify food items and estimate volume. Managed various teams of 3-5 engineering students to develop new processes. Made an Android app prototype for our system. Wrote our development process and publication in the International Journal of Engineering & Technology.
