•Ran a search for an unknown enzyme using an ELISA assay that I developed and numerous protein purification techniques, including ion-affinity, hydrophobic interaction, and size exclusion chromatography to isolate the proper enzyme.• Established several enzymatic assays using HPLC, LC/MS, and colorimetric reagents to screen and identify novel substrates for a metabolically important enzyme.• Obtained pure enzyme for over five different proteins and solved three novel protein/substrate complex structures using x-ray crystallography.• Trained and mentored graduate students and undergraduates.• Developed novel purification procedures and functional assays and wrote SOPs for use internally and for collaborators.

• Performed experiments in in vitro diagnostic and imaging research to better diagnose and treat prostate cancer.• Managed a transgenic mouse colony and performed required experiments to identify oncogenes responsible for prostate cancer.
