Engaged primarily as the Examiner In-Charge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti Money Laundering (AML) examinations. Identify the institution’s BSA/AML risks, develop examination scope, document the BSA examination plan, and assess the adequacy of the institution’s BSA/AML compliance program and compliance with the BSA and all of its implementing regulations. Assess the adequacy of the bank’s internal controls, independent testing, training, and officer capabilities with respect to the BSA/AML program; and assess the bank’s compliance with the statutory and regulatory requirements for the Customer Identification Program (CIP). Assess the appropriateness and comprehensiveness of the bank’s customer due diligence (CDD) policies and procedures for obtaining customer information; assess the bank’s policies and procedures, and overall compliance with the statutory and regulatory requirements for monitoring, detecting, and reporting suspicious activities; and assess the bank’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) compliance program to evaluate whether it is appropriate for the bank’s OFAC risk. Complete reports of examination, develop exit agendas, write recommendations, and conduct meetings with executive management of banks and FDIC regional management. Partner with government agencies, investigation specialists, FDIC colleagues, and executive bank management to assist in examination practices.
