As Head of Consulting I have worked closely with large organisations like Maersk Line, Student Loans Company, Department for International Development, Credit Suisse, Vistaprint, Nationwide, National Australia Bank, Starbucks and others...As a result, I gained experience and insight into how lots of different organisations with very different cultures develop new and improved products and services. Part of my role was to help tailor solutions to problems of slow delivery, low quality and poor value for money. To do this, I would draw from various modern management methods like lean product development and agile practices. Suggesting improvements that fit the context and culture is not enough though. I would help to make the case for change by using data to visualise the problems and develop strong narratives that resonated with senior decision-makers. During implementation I would help grow the organisation's internal expertise to sustain improvements and drive continuous improvement efforts.Alongside this I was an Author and the Course Director for "Value, Flow, Quality" – the world’s first work-based learning program in Lean and Agile practices. Value, Flow, Quality was selected by the Chartered Institute for IT to form their professional and expert level agile certification. I have also developed and delivered tailored training for C-level executives and senior managers.I was also the Author of two thought papers, one drawing on my experience and experiments in Ideation, Prioritisation and Portfolio Management and another on Cost of Delay.
