• Safely and efficiently operate transit, mini, trolley, and coach buses on regularly scheduled runs, and special charters throughout the greater Chicago Area• Drive and narrate Gray Line sightseeing tours around the north and south sides of Chicago.

I will be supporting in the development of a comprehensive literature review on the impacts of green space in urban areas.

At CityBus, I was hired to inventory the stops over the summer, but seeing a gap in staffing, quickly rose to fulfill the primary tasks of a transit analyst. Some of my major accomplishments were as follows:• Led initiative to identify underperforming and poorly spaced stops for consolidation or elimination that stabilized run time, and increased overall on time percentage on the 6A Fourth Street route• Developed system to mitigate bus bunching on the busiest route in the system that resulted in more consistent headways, and reduced passenger complaints• Wrote and submitted a federal “Bus and Bus Facilities” grant that was awarded $475,000• Under general supervision, oversaw several route alignment changes. Tasks included initial data collection, map creation, collection and review of public feedback, and new stop installation• Used Automatic Passenger Counter and Origin/Destination data to identify major ridership trends and inform decisions on routing changes• Assisted in consolidation of two, low performing routes into one, more cost-effective route• Conducted community outreach with Purdue Student body and Greater Lafayette Community• Ensured GTFS Feeds were current• Filled in driving routes in revenue service as necessary

I, along with with the other co-director, managed the Group Visits program at Purdue University, which is responsible for bringing large groups of high school students onto campus, and showing them what it's like to be a Boilermaker. This position included hiring new ambassadors (tour guides), corresponding with high school counselors about planning their day, leading meetings to keep the team on track, and handling any day to day issues that came up with the program.

As an Admissions ambassador, I served as the first face prospective students saw when they're making their decision on attending Purdue. I took students on tours of campus, showing them major landmarks and talking points on Purdue University's Campus, while also responding to any questions they might have had about the university as a whole.

In this position, I had several day to day tasks, but I had three special projects on top of these. Day to day tasks mainly included playing a supporting role to the training department, as there were several Bus Operator and Micro-transit operator training classes going on throughout the summer.My first special project was to investigate a rise in slip and fall accidents on the buses, and propose some possible solutions. This project was given to me by the Chief Safety officer, and the risk management department. To investigate this, I had to measure the drag factors (coefficient of static friction) on the floors of buses from all of our series and do some statistical analysis to see if floor wear out was the principal issue. It was found, in my opinion that the floors were not the issue, the three recommendations provided were: 1) Find a way to incentivize safe driving practices amongst the bus operators 2) Increase the number of safety handholds near the front of the bus 3) Move the yellow line in the front of the bus back some.My second special project was to plan the bus routes for the 10th Annual Kansas City Health and Safety Fair. As a community service, KCATA always provides transportation to this event from community centers around the Greater Kansas City area, and I had to design and plan the five bus routes to and from the event. This was tasked to my by Sharon Fulson, Senator Kiki Curls' Chief of Staff and the transportation department.The final project was one that all of the summer interns were tasked with by the board of directors. They wanted us to look at our department, as well as the company as a whole, and suggest some ways that the company could be improved. These recommendations were then presented to the rest of the company as a "Lunch and Learn" presentation.

As the summer Intern for Indebus, a relatively small transit contract with the City of Independence, MO, my job covered the spectrum. I was formally a dispatcher, but because it was a small operation, I got to touch all aspects of the operation, from management, to day to day operations, to wheels on the ground work. My tasks included (but were not limited to):• Monitored daily operations of fixed route and paratransit system to ensure high quality delivery of fixed route transit service•Developed the operator schedule for the following day and ensured services were adequately staffed each morning• Developed first of its kind "dispatcher manual" to assist in training future dispatchers • Resolved customer service disputes with passengers• Resolved day-to-day issues while reporting to General Manager
