After a successful integration of Argus into Avon's business systems and structures, the group has added an "Electronics Value Stream" to it's manufacturing product portfolio. Working with the supply chain planning group the master production schedule is aligned to the SO&P programme, using rough capacity planning techniques where the expectations are set and regularly achieved to meet the projected workload requirement.Daily delegating tasks through cell-co-ordinators at production meetings to ensure the operations unit meet a number of KPI’s to which I have structured to measure the performance against the objectives set. Delivering excellent service to customers, meeting tight deadlines and high revenue targets expected from the business is sometimes difficult to adhere to but with careful management the product delivery schedules are maintained.Using my knowledge of Business Improvement Techniques the manufacturing cell has gone from strength to strength. By collectively developing the skills of the group along with making them accountable for their performance, has empowered them to achieve results. The rules and duties are clear, understood and respected, as a good team spirit is essential to success.Analysis of constraints, and making them visible to the supply chain management team, I define and lead related action plans to eliminate the constraints. He ensures the industrial after-sales services are assigned and support to off-shore plants such as China are maintained.In the design and NPI phase, the line engineering supports the BU on DFM and adapts the workshop to the forthcoming ramp-up.Inside the cell, production control and management tasks are delegated to members of the team (coordinators). Regular visual management reviews are done in the cells, actively involving the members of the team. The visual management board(s) are partly maintained autonomously by the team of the cell on the fly.Josh’s role is to continuously improve the satisfaction of the customers of the cell, while increasing the financial and industrial (QSHE) efficiency, through individual and collective skills development, empowerment and accountability of the team.As a manager, Josh ensures the objectives and requirements are set at the appropriate level of expectation, that the performance against the objectives is measured, that improvement plans are in place using adequate Business Improvement Techniques. I am accountable for pushing the team forward and providing proactive support allowing daily targets to be achieved. I ensure the delivery of quality products in line with key performance indicators. Implementing continuous improvement ideas in line with standard operating procedures to lower standard product costs.
